Dean is originally from rural Michigan and began singing in his local church at the age of 15 and with musical influences such as; André Crouch, Luther Vandross, Peabo Bryson, Lou Rawls and David Sanborn, at the age 19, Dean left the farm and moved to California to pursue a music career. In his 30+ years, he has graced the stage with artists like; James Cleveland, Marilyn McCoo, Spirogyra, Tom Braxton, and Billy Davis Jr.
In his early career days he played in the band Reel 2 Real and Mr. Nice Guy which eventually inspired him to become an independent singer-song writer and saxophonist. Dean has released 5 projects with an upcoming release of his newest project “New Grace” coming the fall of 2024.
